The three-hour boat tour includes a delectable buffet dinner full of Hungarian delicacies, an open bar and a look at the capital city’s most outstanding landmarks, illuminated festively for your special enjoyment.
The cruise starts at Akadémia Dok 3 on the riverbank and takes you through the beating heart of Budapest. Expect to see the evening vistas of the Pearl of the Danube, bathed in their trademark nightly illumination. The monumental House of Parliament, one of the biggest political assemblies in the world, are twice as impressive when floodlit. Upon the towering Buda side, direct your gaze towards the historic Buda Castle, home to the Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. On the Pest side, you will see St Stephen’s Basilica, named after the king who founded Hungary and where his uncorruptible right hand is still preserved as a sacred talisman. The August 20th celebrations honour the monarch-saint’s life and legacy.
The Fireworks Celebration Cruise would not be as fun without live music on board – the award-winning Rajkó Folk Orchestra is responsible for the good mood and infuses the tour’s atmosphere with some traditional Hungarian tunes. The rich buffet dinner includes local staples, such as the goulash soup, the paprika chicken or the Somló sponge cake, alongside many other European and international delicacies. All this is generously accompanied by a selection of Hungarian wines and soft drinks. When the celebratory fireworks begin, you are welcome to take your drink to the boat’s upper deck and enjoy the stunning view in panoramic proportions. During the fireworks display, the ship will stand still. When the show is over, it will continue its course through the post-firework mist that gives Budapest an even stronger sense of magic that is sure to make for lasting memories.
